ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Liane Abdalla is a multidisciplinary Visual Artist graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Fine Arts of São Paulo in 1986. She expanded her training by specializing in Art Therapy and completing her postgraduate degree in Integrative Art in the 2020s. Her work is built from series and covers drawings, paintings, monotypes, assemblages and installations. Exploring hybrid techniques, her works dialogue with themes related to nature, ecology, ancestry and the imaginary, offering a contemporary perspective on the transience of existence.
Over the years, Liane incorporated organic materials collected from the ground in Atlantic forest regions and applied directly to panels using collage techniques, producing series such as "NaturArte” and "In Natura" exhibited in individual exhibitions at the Centro Cultura da Caixa Econômica de São Paulo and the National Art Foundation. She investigated the relationship between natural forms and utilitarian objects.
Currently, she has dedicated herself more intensely to the language of drawing and painting in inhalations on paper, canvas and reused wood, where she seeks to create symbolic spaces that relate to subjectivities sensitive to the forces and forms of nature, building associations between the landscape and the imaginary. Trees, forests and forests took on a more central role in her compositions and she opened new investigations in the search for colors and lines, creating drawing-paintings on the grains of reused wood, paper and canvas as a support. His pictorial narrative starts from small dots and lines that are composed in layers forming detailed and intricate drawings using different pictorial procedures to create fictional landscape environments driven by color.
